Required Documents For Inspection

Membership (Oldenburg)
In order to get a horse inspected, you have to be an active member. Please Click Here for the online membership application form. When filling in the form, please ignore the input mask for the State (only for German members). After registration you will receive an invoice and credit card payment link via E-Mail as soon as possible. The membership for the current year will be activated after the payment.

Breeding Certificates
All breeding certificates must be submitted by e-mail to contact.gov@oldenburger-pferde.com before the declaration of birth of your foal is possible. For foal inspection and registration of foals conceived via Embryo Transfer, you must also submit a completed Embryo Transfer Certificate. If the dam is not yet registered in the GOV stud book, we also need a copy of the original papers.

Foal/horse registration (Oldenburg):
1. The birth registration of foals and the registration for the inspection should be done online via the personal account, if possible. An active membership is necessary for this. If you are not a member yet, you have also the possibility to register your foal/horse with a birth declaration form.

2. Each foal/horse to be registered should already be microchipped by a veterinarian in advance of the registration, so that the transponder only has to be read by the GOV staff at the inspection. The veterinarian can use a transponder from North America, the chip only needs to be 15 digits. (E.g. 991001003853261) Please bring the completed microchip form to the appointment. Hair samples of the horses will be taken on site as usual. If the foal/horse should not be microchipped yet, you will get the transponder and microchip form on inspection day.

3. All mares must be inspected and entered into the German Oldenburg Mare Book in order to have their foals registered. A separate registration for these mares is not necessary. These mares are automatically inspected on site. Please note that you must bring the Original registration papers of the horse being inspected on inspection day for stamping.

Furthermore, it is also possible to have your foal registered by a veterinarian (Mail-In registration). Please CLICK HERE for the registration details.

Mare registration without foals
For a mare to be inspected you have to send a Mare Inspection form and a copy of the original paper (pedigree). For German mares with a registration number DE... and active members it is also possible to do the application online via the personal account. Please note that you must bring the Original registration papers of the horse being inspected on inspection day for stamping.

Stallion approval
For a stallion to be inspected please send us an E-Mail to
contact.gov@oldenburger-pferde.com

Please consider that without the requested forms we are not able to work on your registration.

The registration deadlines for the dates will be announced when the tour schedule is published.

Later registrations on site are possible, but there will be an extra fee of € 30. For late entries you have to bring the all forms directly to the inspection site.

Payment
A payment of the registration fees is not necessary on site. As soon as the registration documents have reached Germany, the breeders will receive an invoice by e-mail. The accruing fees should be paid by credit card, if possible, for this you will receive a corresponding link by e-mail.  However, the option to pay by check remains, checks should then be mailed to our office address in New York. Please inform us if you wish to pay by check after receiving your invoice.

Foal/horse registration (Weser-Ems)
If you would like to register a pony foal or mare, please send an E-Mail to Mrs. Brinkhus from Pferdestammbuch Weser-Ems e.V.

Mail-In registration (Veterinarian)

The GOV would like to offer you Mail-In registrations by your veterinarian.

You may register your Foal by sending a Breeding Certificate and Foaling certificate to the German office.

You will receive a Registration Protocol - Color and Markings Form – and Microchip Implantation Form and a label for the Hair sample via email (You will mail the hair sample to UC Davis). You will retain your local vet to complete the Registration Protocol, the Microchip Implantation Form and the Microchipping (Chip provided by YOUR Vet). You will return the Registration Protocol and the Microchip Implant Form via email. The registration fee will be reduced from the regular Fee of €285 to €165.

For mares that have foals but have not yet been inspected, the mare will be entered into the Marebook. The Marebook Status will be defined by her pedigree and DNA and there will be no score or evaluation. Hair sample labels will be sent to you via email. The original registration papers have to be mailed to the NY Office or directly the German Office for the mare to receive her Marebook status.
